Laila is the heart and inspiration behind Laila’s Gift®, a nonprofit born from her family’s journey navigating the challenges of her rare syndrome.

From the moment she entered the world alongside her twin sister Lana, her family faced uncertainty, as complications meant that her second birthday was not guaranteed, making each birthday a cherished milestone filled with gratitude and celebration. Laila’s Gift® embodies not only the tangible gifts provided to the community but also the invaluable gift of information, support, and advocacy that empowers families like Laila’s referred to as Sunflower Families.

Through their experiences, her family recognized the need for a nurturing resource that celebrates every child facing odds and offers hope, understanding, and connection within the entire special needs community.
